Class 7: June 6th - Verbs extensive!
We reviewed nouns briefly but spent most of our time on patterns of verbs and making short sentences

Class 6: May 30th 2015
We reviewed lesson from past week and made short Arabic phrases using Unit 2, 5 & 6. We must continue making these phrases every week.
Students were asked to bring new notebooks for Quran analysis as well
We also worked on understanding verbs and worked on Unit 3 to learn more verb patters
Class 5: May 23rd 2015
We learnt basic forms of verbs
We memorized Unit 4 & 5 (pointing nouns and interrogative pronouns). Students memorized them so we can use them in sentences using Nouns with quantity, gender and their types.
A big picture was shared with students so they understand how learning about these different pieces of grammar will come together to aid them understanding Arabic sentences and Quran verses

Class #7: February 28th 2015
We caught up in four areas today so substitute teachers (Br Yaseen and Br Yousuf) can take over for next 3 weeks
- We worked on all male forms of verbs in past and present tense. We made several sentences. We used verbs "abada" and "taraka" to practice on Surah Kaafiroon and Surah Faatihah. Page 11 and 12 were of importance. We used the 3rd person plural forms from verbs to finish verb analysis in ayah 14 ad 3 of Surah baqarah
- We revisited the Quran notebook idea and finished verses 2 & 3, categories, word to word & eloquent translation. Students now know how to use the Quran notebook and everyone know how to write, how much space to leave and where to look for help
- We started on "Types of Nouns" and had some very important practice. Students used this knowledge to translate verses and also start on chapter 3 of reading book
Teachers will continue the work in next week
Claass #6: Feb 21st 2015
We extended our knowledge about "Subjects and Objects" using Page 12 of the grammar book. We learnt how attached pronouns work with Verbs
then we learnt the 2 more forms of verbs (past tense singulars for first person, 2nd person and 3rd person) and used attached pronouns to form sentences such as
He drank it
I left him
You left it
Class #5: Feb 14th 2015
We started on the basic form of verbs while we kept building our knowledge about attached prepositions and pronouns. Page 11 of the grammar book was our focus today. We finished one Quran verbs worksheet in the class (page )
We looked at Quran text to find words with attached prepositions and pronouns
we will start on Quran notebook starting next week

Class #4: Feb 7th 2015
alhamdulillah, in past 2 weeks, we built our knowledge about prepositions, pronouns and most basic form of the verbs. We also finished two chapters from reading books and we learnt many new words
I gave you few homework past week. Please make sure that all of them are completed when you come to class on saturday so we can start on time, fix the home works and move on insha-Allah!

Class #3: Jan 31st 2015
We reviewed past material and started chapter 2 in reading book
We had important discussion about why we are taking this class and why we need to be serious about learning and understanding Quran

Class #2: Jan 24th 2015
One more students joined the class to test it out if she belongs there
- We finished chapter one, learning new vocabulary as well as the use of "Maa", "Man", male and female nouns
- Using grammar book, we learnt unit 1 about prepositions (one of the 3 categories of Arabic words). we finished the exercise in class and were assigned another exercise
- Students need to get the phone number for the reading class during the week to help improving their reading skill. to do for teacher
Class #1: Jan 17th 2015
Students were tested and placed in their respective classes. 2 of the level 1 students didn't show up so total class size is not known yet. We had 3 student attending today
- We reviewed the first chapter from alMadinah book and learnt about "This". We read the chapter and had a homework for 3 pages in the book
- We discussed about the grammar book for next week insha-Allah
Class 12: last class - review for final exam
We mainly reviewed the major concepts to ensure we are ready for the final exam
being able to pick the 3 categories of Arabic words is the key to this work.

We reviewed again how to find subject & object in the verbs. We also reviewed on "pointing nouns" and "reference nouns" from Unit 5

Class 11: substitute teacher for Jan 3rd 2015 class
IUM admin helped sharing a sample test with the class for the sake of review and understand what will final exam be looking like
Br Mashood will send an electronic copy of that as well
Sr Saima substituted Br Mashood and helped worked on 20+ sentences while also translating & analysis of verses 5 to 8 from Surah Baqarah!
